SUFFERN - Security has been increased at synagogues and Jewish community centers as Passover is celebrated.

Police in Ramapo say their presence is always heightened during Passover and Easter, both of which coincide this year. This year, authorities are on especially high alert in the wake of the attacks on a Jewish community center and nursing home that left three people dead in Kansas.

Police say there's been no local threats to any synagogues or Jewish institutions, but they're asking the public to remain on the lookout.
