NEWBURGH - A Bronx man was arrested after allegedly plowing through traffic during a dangerous, high-speed police chase on Route 9W in Orange County.

Three cars and a police cruiser were hit before the pursuit came to an end late Monday night in Newburgh.

Authorities say that police in Beacon initially spotted a stolen car and tried to pull 24-year-old Angel Gomez over on the Newburgh Beacon Bridge. They say he stopped but then kept going.

Officials say the Bronx resident took off on foot when the stolen car he was driving finally came to a stop.

Police caught Gomez and 24-year-old Krystall Solivan. Solivan was not charged.

Authorities say two people and a trooper were taken to the hospital but are expected to be OK.

Gomez remains behind bars on $500,000 bail.

He is facing multiple felony charges, including reckless endangerment and assault.
