NEW CITY - New City residents who spoke with News 12 say they hope the spring snowfall Friday will be their last bout with wintry weather.

The snowfall forced drivers to slow down along Route 59 in Nanuet, as well as other roadways effected by the snowy conditions.

Many are agreeing with New City native Carol Monksy, who came up with a poetic verse to describe the changing of the seasons.

"Spring has sprung, the grass will rise – but I can't see it because the snow’s in my eyes," she said.
