Snowless winter melting profits of WC businesses

WHITE PLAINS - The mostly mild winter season is melting the profits of Westchester businesses that depend on snow to fuel their earnings.

Local stores, such as Pat Guzzo's snowplowing business in Valhalla, saw a strong earnings season last winter as snowstorms and blizzards kept customers coming back for more.

Despite the warm weather, Joseph Zeolla of Ardsley Hardware, isn't worried yet.

"I've been here 31 years consistently," he says. "Eventually the snow comes and we do sell it out."
