SPRING VALLEY - A Spring Valley mother is urging lawmakers in Albany to make CPR training mandatory in all New York high schools.

The issue became a personal mission to Audrey Linguanti after she lost her teenage son to heart disease in 2006.

Vincent Linguanti was a 16-year-old hockey star and volunteer firefighter when he suddenly died of an enlarged heart almost eight years ago.

Linguanti has teamed up with the American Heart Association to pass the CPR in Schools bill. The bill would make it mandatory that all high school graduates receive some type of CPR training prior to graduation.

She admits the training wouldn't have saved her son, but she believes it could help save the lives of many other people.
