CHESTER - As the latest snowstorm bears down on the region, crews are out clearing the roads of what they hope will be the last snow of the season.

About 3 to 5 inches of snow is expected to fall across the Hudson Valley by the time the storm ends overnight.

It's been a long and expensive winter for the departments of public works across the region, and many say they are almost out of their salt and sand supply.

Public works officials say that the timing of this snowfall is expected to be a problem for crews and people out on the roads.

As snow begins to fall, roadways are becoming wet and slick. Drivers are urged to leave work early if possible and get off the roads before conditions worsen.
