NYACK - Hundreds across Hudson Valley had their power knocked out when violent storms crossed the region Tuesday night.

Downed trees and power lines knocked out electricity in dozens of communities. One area hit particularly hard was Bronxville, where a tree on Hampshire Road off Kimble Avenue fell around 8 p.m. Trees were also downed in the Palmer Avenue section of New Rochelle.

Con Ed crews worked throughout the afternoon to restore power to homes.

News 12 Meteorologist Mike Rizzo says more hot weather is on tap for the rest of the week, with high temperatures in the upper-80s and low-90s.
