NYACK - A line of afternoon storms may bring a little relief to the stifling humidity gripping the Hudson Valley.

News 12 Meteorologist Brysen Van Eck says it will be hot and muggy for most of the day today with some areas touching 90 degrees. However, Van Eck expects a line of storms to cross the region after 3 p.m. and into the evening.

The cold front will bring some relief though. While temperatures should continue to be in the high 80s for the next five days, the humidity will be less than the past couple of days.

Due to the thick air and humidity, residents in Getty Square say that they are finding it hard to breathe. Many say that they are riding the air-conditioned buses today to get some relief from the heat.

Health officials are once again warning people with chronic health issues to stay inside in air conditioning.
