NYACK - Overnight storms knocked down trees and power lines in many parts of the Hudson Valley.

A downed tree limb knocked out power for dozens in the Pine Brook Boulevard area of a New Rochelle neighborhood. As a result, dozens of homes in the area lost electricity, but Con Edison crews were able to restore power just before 7 a.m. Police kept the road closed for most of the morning, and cars had to detour onto Forest Avenue to get around. Crews removed the tree and had the road opened back up by about 8:30.

News 12 Meteorologist Brysen Van Eck says while he doesn't expect an all-day rain, a few scattered storms could bring heavy downpours throughout the day today.

The heavy rains could cause ponding on area roads and some flooding in low-lying areas.
