Students take 'Revolutionary' field trip in Stony Point

STONY POINT - Science students traveled to Stony Point today to turn a historic Revolutionary War battleground into an outdoor classroom.

The Highlands to Piedmont Program, run by Rutgers University, allows minority students to use ground-penetrating radar to search the Stony Point Battlefield State Historic Site for the bodies of soldiers who died during the Revolutionary War.

The student left markers in spots where they believe something could be buried. They are hoping that an archaeologist will come in to do some digging and see what they actually found.
