RAMAPO - A Rockland teenager was arrested for allegedly bringing a loaded handgun to school and using it to threaten another student on Friday.

The 16-year-old boy, who police are not identifying, is accused of pointing a loaded gun at another student on the bus ride home from Ramapo High School.

Police say the teen was stopped inside a car later that night and found with a loaded 9 mm semi-automatic handgun before he was arrested.

The driver of the car, 23-year-old Timothy Brown, was also taken in on weapons charges.

The district has remained tight-lipped on the incident, but said that student safety is their top concern.

Both suspects remain in Rockland County Jail.
