CLARSKTOWN - On Thursday evening, the Clarkstown Central School District held a meeting at the Felix Festa Middle School to inform parents of the findings of unacceptable lead levels throughout the district.

A testing of water in the Clarkstown Central School District has found lead above the acceptable levels in all 13 schools.

Right now, 16 fountains and 88 sinks are "off limits” in various schools.

The district informed parents that it plans on correcting the issue over the summer to have it fixed by the time school resumes in September.

Schools in Briarcliff Manor, Yonkers and New Rochelle also had to shut off drinking fountains and faucets because of the lead concerns.
