Thousands turn out for Yonkers St. Patrick's Day Parade

Thousands of people decked out in green lined the streets of Yonkers Saturday for the city's 62nd annual St. Patrick's Day Parade.

YONKERS - Thousands of people decked out in green lined the streets of Yonkers Saturday for the city's 62nd annual St. Patrick's Day Parade.

More than 5,000 participants led by Parade Grand Marshal and New York Cardinal Timothy Dolan headed down McLean Avenue for the parade. Other participants included 30 marching bands, Irish dancers and the local Gaelic Football Club Members.

Around 25,000 people had been expected to line the path of the parade in celebration.

Free parking was available at Empire City Casino, with a shuttle bus carting attendees over to the parade.
