Thunderstorms impact Hudson Valley

Heavy winds and rain moved into parts of the area Tuesday. Hundreds of O&R customers lost power after the storm tore through the Hudson Valley.

NYACK - Heavy winds and rain moved into parts of the area Tuesday.

Hundreds of O&R customers lost power after the storm tore through the Hudson Valley. There was heavy rain and high winds, but the storm only lasted about 10 minutes.

Officials from O&R say they prepared for the storm and will be ready to go throughout the night

News 12 Meteorologist Joe Rao says even though there is a storm watch until 9 p.m., the worst of the storm is over.  He says there may be some showers throughout the area until Tuesday evening.

Rao says that there is a chance of showers overnight, but evening skies will become mostly clear.
