MONSEY - A tractor-trailer crash caused major traffic problems in Rockland County today.

Officials say an excavator fell off the flat-bed truck around 9 a.m. after it hit an I-87 overpass in Monsey.

All lanes of I-87 north were closed for short time between exits 14A and 14B. Lanes gradually reopened as crews cleaned up the fuel spill and put the excavator back on the flat-bed. All lanes reopened by noon.

The overpass that was hit by the truck suffered some structural damage, and officials closed Hungry Hollow Road while they inspected the span.

No one was hurt.
