RAMAPO - State police say no injuries are reported after a transit bus caught fire while traveling on the I-87 this morning.

Troopers on the Thruway detail say the fire was reported around 6 a.m. Monday on a Transport of Rockland bus that was headed north on Interstate 87 in Ramapo. Police say they don't know how many people were on the bus, which was pulled over onto the highway's right shoulder between exits 14A and 14B.

The right and center northbound lanes were closed while the damaged bus was removed from the scene. All lanes have since been reopened.

There's no indication yet what caused the fire.
