Transportation council to vote on new TZ Bridge Monday

YONKERS - The New York Metropolitan Transportation Council is expected to vote Monday on whether the new Tappan Zee Bridge project can move forward.

The nine-person board, which includes the county executives for Westchester, Rockland and Putnam, will meet to decide whether to approve the $5 billion project.

Without the board's approval, the state cannot apply for federal money to help pay for the bridge.
