NEW CITY - The Rockland County Sheriff's Office is welcoming two new K-9s into its department while remembering two beloved four-legged members who passed away.

Shaz is the department's new drug detection dog.  She is part of a push to keep heroin and other drugs out of the Rockland County Jail.

K-9 Officer Holder also joined the ranks as a tracking dog.

Both K-9s were purchased and trained using federal grant money.

During the ceremony, K-9 Officers Scooter and Gunner were honored for their 13 years of service to the department. Both passed away earlier this year.
