Man accused of filing for unemployment while having a job

A Walden man is facing charges after allegedly receiving unemployment benefits while he already had a job.

Police say Matthew Severo was paid more than $3,000 in unemployment benefits that he was not entitled to.

WALDEN - A Walden man is facing charges after allegedly receiving unemployment benefits while he already had a job.

Police say Matthew Severo was paid more than $3,000 in unemployment benefits that he was not entitled to.

Severo is charged with third-degree grand larceny, and first-degree offering a false instrument for filing, both felonies.

He's expected to appear in court next week.
