NEW ROCHELLE - Officials are calling a New Rochelle construction worker a hero today after he helped the NYPD track down the Empire State Building shooter.

Brian Dillon says after he witnessed the murder of Steven Ercolino on Friday, he flagged down two police officers and followed the gunman.

Nine bystanders were wounded in the shooting, with all of them hit by police bullets or richoted bullet fragments.

According to police, the gunman, Jeffrey Johnson, had a longstanding feud with Ercolino.
