NYACK - A mix of rain and snow showers made for a slippery morning rush hour for many Hudson Valley commuters today.

News 12 Meteorologist Brysen Van Eck says a storm brought snow showers and sleet to some areas before changing to rain. Van Eck says some areas in Westchester, Rockland, Orange and Putnam counties received a coating to over two inches of snow.

Van Eck says most of the precipitation cleared the region by 8 a.m. He expects the rest of the day will see some breaks of sunshine developing, with high temperatures near 47.

There's some unsettled weather on tap for the rest of the week. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday will all see highs in the mid- to upper-40s with chances for rain showers or sprinkles.
