HUDSON VALLEY - A winter storm narrowly missed the Hudson Valley overnight, but dangerous winds are rushing in behind the front.

New 12 Meteorologist Brysen Van Eck says that winds up to 50 mph will hit the region today. Van Eck says the gusts will be strong enough to possibly knock over trees and damage power lines. The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory until 8 p.m. today.

The wind will make temperatures feel well below freezing for the rest of the day.

Temperatures will start to warm up tomorrow and seasonal temperatures in the 50s should remain throughout the weekend.
