NANUET - It wasn't business as usual at some offices in Rockland County on Monday when a local radio station changed frequency powers.

Nanuet medical office manager Jill Ingrassia heard the unexpected sounds of a Rockland Boulders baseball game coming from her office phone.

Local radio station WRCR AM 1700 had increased its frequency power, which caused the phone and fax systems to encounter some issues.

"Faxing results to other doctors, getting inbound faxes from other doctors, reports from the hospital, reports from the lab...it did hold us up a bit," Ingrassia said.

The radio station sent engineer Tom Ray to fix the problem. He says that "just about anything with a wire can become a radio."

WRCR AM radio is asking anyone experiencing interruptions in phone or fax systems to call the station for help.
