Yorktown police seek driver in deadly hit-and-run on East Main Street

Friends of Turner say she parked her SUV along East Main Street during the winter months because the driveway leading up to her home frequently became very icy. (2/21/14)

YORKTOWN - Yorktown police are looking for the driver in a hit-and-run that left 73-year-old Georgia Turner dead.

Authorities say they found Turner at about 6 p.m. yesterday near the driveway of her home on East Main Street. They say Turner was then taken to the hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Police say there were no witnesses to the incident so there is no description of the driver or the vehicle, but they have been at the scene since early this morning trying to gather evidence.

The New York State Crime Stoppers say it is offering a reward of up to $2,500 for information that leads to an arrest.
