While waiting for a delayed subway train, a Brooklyn man hatched an idea to make light of the MTA's performance issues with fake service signs.

Dennard Dayle says he wants to give people something to laugh about.

The signs look almost identical to the ones that inform straphangers about planned service changes. But instead of sharing schedules, they deliver satire.

One depicts MTA Chairman Joe Lhota as tired, fed-up and ready to quit. 

"I don't remember what it's like to smile," he's misquoted as saying.

Dayle hung the first signs in Manhattan and then put more in the other boroughs.

"I think you can always find a way to turn that kind of negative energy into something positive or amusing," Dayle says. "Or you know, just give people a distraction."
