New York commuters who use NJ Transit will pay more for their tickets starting tomorrow.
The 25-percent fare hike takes effect May 1, raising the price of a monthly ticket to an average of $40. Officials say the increase is necessary to close New Jersey's $300 million transit deficit.
NJ Transit train and bus services will also be cut, along with 200 jobs.
