NJ woman ejected from car in Ramapo crash
A New Jersey woman was injured Friday after crashing into a tree on the Palisades Parkway in Ramapo and being ejected from her vehicle, police say.
According to authorities, 26-year-old Ellen Raabe was driving erratically, not wearing a seatbelt and talking on her cell phone at the time of the crash.
Micah Katz, a physician's assistant from Orange County, was heading to work when he saw the crash and rushed to help. He says by the time he reached Raabe, that woman was not breathing, but he and other first responders were able to resuscitate her.
Raabe underwent surgery at Nyack Hospital for serious head and internal injuries.
