The blaze broke out at around 9:30 a.m. in a building on Lutheran Street in Newburgh. Officials say the fire erupted in the back of the building where there was some old rubbish. Firefighters say they suspect someone set fire to a mattress that spread to the building, but they are still investigating at this time.
Around 20 people were sleeping in the building around the time the fire started. No injuries have been reported.
