No. Rockland H.S. student stabbed in on-campus attack
Police arrested a girl for allegedly stabbing a student at North Rockland High School during dismissal Friday.
Investigators say the teenage girl, who was enrolled in an after-school program, pulled out a kitchen knife and stabbed a female student twice in the chest. School security guards struggled to get the knife away from the suspect and were able to subdue her until police arrived. Three security guards were cut during the struggle. Officials say their injuries were minor.
The student was rushed to Nyack Hospital for treatment. Officials say her wounds do not appear to be life-threatening.
Investigators are looking into exactly what caused the suspect to go after her intended target. The suspect faces charges of assault and weapons possession.
