Northbound Saw Mill reopens in Elmsford

ELMSFORD - All lanes of the northbound Saw Mill Parkway are now reopened after a series of multi-vehicle collisions closed the parkway in Elmsford at the beginning of rush hour today.

Police say the chain reaction crash happened just after 6:15 a.m. near Route 119. They say there were four separate crashes involving eight cars.

Black ice is suspected of contributing to the crashes. Paramedics took some people to the hospital with minor injuries.

Police detoured traffic onto Route 119 until the parkway reopened just before 8:00 a.m.
