A state Supreme Court justice has dismissed a lawsuit that was filed by a Poughkeepsie City Court judge.
Judge Frank Mora filed a suit against Stacey Koch, an office manager who had complained about Mora to the Commission on Judicial Conduct. According to the lawsuit, Mora and Koch had a dispute because the judge refused to wear a mask while in the doctor's office where his son was a patient.
Mora claimed that it was defamatory for Koch to have made a complaint against him to the commission. The commission intervened in the suit because of the need in protecting the integrity of its inquiries from attempts to inhibit witnesses from coming forward or cooperating.
A hearing will be held later this month to determine the fees and costs to be assessed against Mora.
