Nyack father accused of leaving kids home to buy drugs
Police have arrested a Nyack man who they say left his two young children home alone while he went out to buy crack cocaine.
Police spotted 38-year-old Parris Heath leaving an area known for drug activity Wednesday night. They searched Heath and found a tin packet containing cocaine. He then informed police he had left his two children, ages 2 and 7, home sleeping.
Police went to the Prospect Street home and found the children uninjured. Police contacted Child Protective Services and the mother, who was at work at the time. She then took custody of the kids. Heath now faces a drug possession charge and also endangering the welfare of a child.
