NYS trooper helps deliver baby
A New York State trooper took on an interesting role this past Saturday when he assisted in the delivery of a baby who came a few weeks early.
New mother Nicole Tripoli says she was at home when she began having contractions three weeks before her due date.
Tripoli said she called her mother and then her doctor, but it was too late to get to the hospital.
The trooper and Tripoli's mother, with assistance from a 911 operator, delivered the baby perfectly.
Tripoli said she and her newborn spent a few days in the hospital following the unexpected birth, but that they are both doing well.
