NEW ROCHELLE - Officials at Iona Preparatory School responded today after a group of parents claimed that a teacher made online threats against the school on her personal blog.

The group, calling itself Concerned Iona Prep Parents, says that teacher Kirsten Brescia is a threat to students safety.

The claims alleged that Brescia made references to "possibly" shooting up the school in 2011. It also alleged that the teacher made sexually charged references, and wrote about some of the school's A-list celebrity students on her blog. An anonymous letter sent to News12 also said that Brescia suffers from bipolar disorder.

School President Thomas Leto said that the matter was handled appropriately several years ago. He also said that the teacher is no longer in the classroom, and that she hasn't taught at the exclusive Catholic school in New Rochelle for three years.

Sources say she also no longer holds any responsibilities at the school.

New Rochelle police are not investigating her or any threat.
