A man was badly burned during a fire in Congers Friday, officials say.

The Clarkstown Police Department responded to an apparent shed fire on Lakeview Court.

When officers arrived, they found a 63-year-old man lying on the ground near the shed that was engulfed it flames.

The victim had significant burns to his body and was treated by Congers-Valley Cottage Ambulance Corp. and Rockland Paramedics Services.

The Clarkstown Detective Bureau is handling the investigation in regards to the fire and injuries.

There is no word on what caused the fire.
