One of former State Senator Guy Velella's closest allies has jumped ship.

Ida Peduzzi has resigned as treasurer from the three Republican party accounts that have recently pitted Velella against his fellow Republicans in the Bronx. Peduzzi also resigned from her campaign committee account. A News 12 Westchester special investigation revealed last week that the once powerful senator and former chair of the Bronx Republican Party was using the GOP money to pay his private lawyer and to donate to political campaigns. Velella denies those accusationsMeanwhile, members of the GOP are sending a letter to the bank that issued the accounts, demanding they be suspended until the dispute is over.
