Orange County arrests 23 people for allegedly trafficking drugs, guns

MIDDLETOWN - Orange County District Attorney David Hoovler announced today the arrest of 23 people suspected of trafficking drugs and guns.

Hoovler says the suspects were trafficking heroin, cocaine, oxycodone and firearms, which included large-caliber revolvers and semi-automatic pistols. A sawed-off shotgun was also recovered.

The investigation involved New York state and Orange County law enforcement. Officials focused their attention on activity in Newburgh, Middletown and Port Jervis.

All 23 were indicted and the DA tells News 12 that several more indictments in the drugs and gun sweep are expected soon.
