A volunteer firefighter from Middletown was arrested last night for allegedly sexually assaulting a woman.

Police say 28-year-old Timothy Austin, a New York City firefighter and a volunteer with the Silver Lake Fire Department, met the 45-year-old Middletown woman at a local bar and then asked her to come back to the firehouse in Wallkill a few weeks ago.

The alleged victim told police Austin sexually assaulted her inside the Silver Lake firehouse and then grabbed her by the wrists when she tried to get away.

Austin has been released on $1,000 bail. He is due back in court May 31.
