Orange County Government Center to be closed indefinitely
County Executive Ed Diana (R-Orange) announced during a news conference today that the Orange County Government Center in Goshen will be closed indefinitely.
The facility suffered severe flooding damage caused by Tropical Storm Irene and the remnants of Tropical Storm Lee, according to officials.
Diana says that departments housed in the center will move to other county buildings and then again to rented space in Goshen.
The county executive says there are two options for the now-closed facility: renovate or completely rebuild.
Diana says he has been pushing for a new building to be constructed for years and he believes that the current situation will force a decision to be made quickly.
