The Orange County Legislature will attempt to override a veto by County Executive Ed Diana (R-Orange) over funding for the Valley View Nursing Home.

Diana vetoed the Legislature's amendments to the 2012 budget after lawmakers tried to add an additional six months of funding for the nursing facility.

"It was not in my opinion a Valley View issue - it was a budget issue," Diana says.

The Legislature had planned to meet tonight and vote, but had to cancel because the budget director wasn't available. The next meeting has been scheduled for Dec. 14, right before the Dec. 15 deadline.
