An Orange County community is in mourning after a teen was found dead in the woods on Sunday.
The Washingtonville School District confirms 13-year-old Timothy Davis passed away.
He had been reported missing on Friday night. The body of the Washingtonville High School freshman was found in the woods, only feet away from his childhood home on Barnes Road.
Blooming Grove police say they are still investigating his death and haven't released many details. However, they say the death should be no cause for alarm among parents and residents in the area. An autopsy was performed Monday morning.
Sources tell News 12 that the multi-sport athlete may have taken his own life.
Grief counselors were available Monday at Taft Elementary School.
A GoFundMe page has been set up to help Davis' family pay for funeral expenses.
