Orange County paper refuses ad for gay art exhibit
The owner of the Orange County Post turned down a request from the Washingtonville Art Society promoting an exhibit featuring works from gay and lesbian artists..
The paper?s owner says they are a family newspaper and thought the ad would be inappropriate. Some residents agree with the paper?s decision. They feel the owner of the paper was within his rights not to print something he objects to.
However, others disagree, saying that the gallery owner is being discriminated against. The owner of a deli, which displays art from the gallery, says the whole thing is absurd.
