Increased police security is still in effect in an Orange County school district that is dangerously close to where a manhunt for an alleged Pennsylvania cop killer is underway.
Authorities are combing an area of Pennsylvania on the New York state line, near Deerpark and Port Jervis, for self-taught survivalist and alleged cop killer, 31-year-old Eric Frein.
Authorities say Frein ambushed two Pennsylvania state troopers, resulting in the death of Cpl. Bryon Dickson. Frein is now on the FBI's Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list. Frein is believed to be somewhere in the nearby densely wooded area.
Officials say he's an excellent marksman, who may be armed with a hunting rifle and an AK-47.
Authorities say that while there is no specific threat, they are on high alert. District officials say the security precautions will remain in place until further notice.
In Scranton, hundreds of law enforcement members lined the street to honor Dickson at a funeral service Thursday.
