A local tennis league is giving Bronx special needs children the chance to swing into action for free.
The New York Junior Tennis League?s Bronx International Tennis Center, located at 754 Thierot Ave., has five courts. The league accommodates players regardless of their age, level, or whether they are mentally or physically disabled. Organizers say playing tennis helps children exercise while learning valuable life lessons.
Students and teachers agree that participating in the program is rewarding for both parties.
