The owners of a popular Suffolk catering hall are working with customers to reschedule and relocate events that were booked before the venue was gutted by fire.
Dozens of future events were scheduled at the Meadow Club in Port Jefferson Station before the July 14 fire damaged more than 50 percent of the building.
In the midst of the devastation, the staff says it has set clients up with alternative venues.
Kiran Wadhwa, of the Meadow Club, tells News 12 that she and her family have also found their staff other work to ensure they can make ends meet while they try to replace their family business.
They say they'll need the help of Brookhaven Town officials to secure permits to rebuild and reopen.
"It all depends on how the town is going to help us, how the builders are going to get this going. And you know we want to make this place just as good as it was but also even better. Because we want to show the community that this is not going to break us down,” says Wadhwa.
The owners of the Meadow Club say that the cause of the fire is still undetermined, but they do know that it started somewhere on the second floor.
They say it will take between four and six months to get the Meadow Club back up and running.
