Parents are demanding the Department of Transportation (DOT) change course to prevent accidents at an intersection near a Fordham school.
Concerned resident Milton Battle says E. 194th Street and Briggs Avenue form the dangerous crossroads where cars have struck several pedestrians. He says even school bus drivers roll through stop signs. The intersection is blocks away from Public School 46, but the DOT does not deem the area a school zone. However, more safety precautions are in place closer to the school.
Battle called into News 12 The Bronx?s ?Ask the Borough President? show to have Borough President Adolfo Carrion Jr. address the issue. The DOT recently said it will install a traffic light by March.
