Parents are on alert after a fourth-grade boy was approached by a man offering him candy at a New City school bus stop Friday morning.
The young boy took off to a friend?s house after being approached by the man, which made the suspect flee. Police say a man with a similar description tried to lure a 9-year-old girl in Nanuet with candy earlier in the month.
Police urge parents to talk to their children about being approached by strangers. Anyone with information on either incident is asked to contact the Clarkstown Police Department at 845-639-5800.
