There are new concerns with ongoing restrictions at residential care facilities in the Hudson Valley as Gov. Andrew Cuomo authorized visitations to resume this week.
Newburgh mothers Geri Pierri and Susan Havko have adult sons with autism who live in residential care. They have not been able to see their children since the start of the coronavirus pandemic.
While the governor is now allowing visits to resume for the first time on Friday, they say it's not enough.
Both mothers say their time on Friday will be limited to an hour, and they want the governor to once again allow their boys to come home.
For now, there's no guidance on when restrictions for residential living facilities will be eased.
Cuomo announced on Tuesday that visitations can resume at hospitals and group homes for the developmentally disabled.Visitation at nursing homes is still not allowed.
