Middletown police are on a manhunt for a career criminal who allegedly went on a tear of break-ins after he was paroled.

Police are on the lookout for 35-year-old John Redner, of Middletown, who they say has a long criminal history. Redner is wanted for a number of recent break-ins, including allegedly driving a stolen van into two delis hours apart in order to steal the registers.

In the latest incident, Redner was allegedly in the middle of burglarizing a Wawayanda home Friday morning until the owner returned and called police.

Helicopters have been utilized in addition to ground patrols trying to find Redner. Officers with guns drawn have also been checking the homes of his relatives.

Police say it?s only a matter of time before Redner?s luck runs out and he?s brought back to justice.
