A Pearl River man says a food truck that he uses for charity events was vandalized while in a secured parking lot.
Rick Salazar says he believes someone broke the lock and then preceded to smash windows and rip out the ignition. He says tools, the griller and some equipment were stolen, totaling thousands of dollars in losses.
Salazar says he fixed up the food truck to bring it to charity events. He runs a couple of local cafes, and he and his employees donate sandwiches to March of Dimes.
Salazar believes it may have just been a group of careless kids.

"We just want to bring the person in who did it to realize they damaged something that's for a good cause,” he says.

Salazar says he plans to fix it up as soon as possible so he can continue to helps others.
